Uleria is the Goddess of Love, and this shrine is dedicated to her. The Uleria Temple is the central building in the hamlet and predates the rest of the village. It is a two-story stone building, its rectangular terracotta roof held up by columns carved and painted as coupled caryatids.
One priestess and two younger ones live here, all tending the needs of their cult. The priestess Aileena is a strikingly attractive woman in her mid-30s. She has been with this temple for nearly 20 years and is devoted to the arts of Love. Janeera and Thrilla are younger women. Thrilla only recently came to the temple; she is a courtesan from the Lunar Empire that fled Boldhome after the Dragonrise and received Aileena’s protection. The temple performs fertility rituals, provides convivial company, and administers the arts of love as needed.
Aileena is witty and charming, and possessed of great beauty. She is devoted to the powers of Love and Life, and believes that her modest and remote temple has been chosen by the goddess to unite the war-torn and feuding peoples of Dragon Pass. To achieve the Eternal Moment of Allness, Aileena practices the Three Ways of Love: through the Body; through Community; and through Propagation. She casts her Rune magic for hire for anybody except creatures or worshipers of Chaos.
Aileena is well respected by the Colymar and Malani tribes.

The Tin Inn is a well-established and fortified roadhouse on a frequently travelled route, and almost always has visitors. It is the only tavern for a day’s journey beyond; outlying farmers normally congregate at the inn. The inn has two stories and it, along with its outbuildings, wall, and courtyard are tin-roofed. The inn has a large common room on the ground floor; upstairs are eight rooms (although only five are available to rent). Paying guests may sleep in the common room or rent out the upstairs rooms (which are equipped with a bed, a washing basin, and a chamber pot).
Brightflower, the daughter of the previous owner, runs the inn. Gooseberry Sprig works as the cook and dogsbody. Postal and Mineera live in a small building within the walls but outside the inn and work there as well. Postal is the stable hand as well as being noted for his skill at carpentry. Mineera gardens and tends the animals. Their daughters Jeena and Vareena work in the inn as waitresses and general helpers. Jeena is married to Hendroste the Horsemaster and resides with him.
Pramble, an elderly poet, lives permanently in the Tin Inn, as he has for the last 20 years. He has a hunched posture and personality, and spends most of his meager income on vellum and ink. Occasionally he works as an extra for the inn when he needs money and when trade allows.
Squinch, the local scholar, also lives at the Tin Inn.
Brightflower is the daughter of Bulster Brewer and his wife Bertha. Both died in the Great Winter. Her brother Barayo left Apple Lane 15 years ago to be a mercenary in the Holy Country, where he is rumored to be a mercenary captain. With her father, mother, and husband all dead, Brightflower now manages the inn and serves as the brewer. She is famed for her fruit and barley wines.

Gooseberry Sprig is a self-serving thief and con man. He is also a talented and inexpensive cook, which is why Brightflower has put up with him so far. He’s been at the Tin Inn since the Great Winter and he is surprisingly loyal to Brightflower. Gooseberry is friends with a gourmand satyr named Toro and a music-loving centaur named Sonzog, who occasionally visit Apple Lane; they were once part of a local bandit gang.

The Temple To All The Deities is a two-story building with a full basement. An additional two-story tall tower surmounts it.
Of the main building, the first floor is one large room, while the upper floor is divided into several smaller rooms. These rooms are decorated with frescoes showing as many deities as the painters could imagine. In the basement are rooms for storing food and equipment, and the caretaker’s rooms. The first and second floors of the temple, as well as the two tower rooms, are rented for celebrations or sacrifices. Locals use them for their seasonal farming ceremonies, and for weekly prayers to less popular deities. Only cults of Chaos and evil have ever been denied rental here.
No one has ever dared to try to rob the place, though rumor has it that several guardian spirits occupy the building. Even during the depths of the Lunar Occupation, this building was unspoiled.
Kareena is the caretaker of the Temple To All The Deities. An old woman, Kareena still mourns for her ward, a simple girl who died in the Great Winter.
One-half of the Horsemaster's Guild Hall and residence is a single large room. There is a votive tablet of a horseman holding a lance—a common depiction of Hyalor the Horseman.
The other half of the building houses Hendroste the Horsemaster, his wife Jeena, and her four-year old son Jenestan. Hendroste is a Grazelander who came here two years ago with a string of fine horses, seeking adventure and following a mysterious vision that led him to Apple Lane.

Jeena is the daughter of Mineera and Postal. Her first husband was a Varmandi herder, who died three years ago, leaving Jeena with a young son, Jenestan. She married Hendroste last year and is now expecting a second child.

The Storeroom is a one-story building with a unique (and very secure) pyramid shaped roof made of stone. The walls and foundations are also of stone. A single brassbound and magically-locked door faces the Tin Inn. The storeroom has never been robbed.
The storeroom is used as a regional granary. It also functions as the hamlet’s general store and is run by Squinch. Within the granary are foodstuffs, grain, apples, wine, seeds, cloth, blank parchment, and just about any other common trade good that Squinch thinks he can sell to the villagers, travelers, or farmers.
Though Squinch is aloof and artificially worldly, he never intentionally cheats a customer. Squinch’s air of snobbery comes from his position as the local sage and merchant. The farmers and most travelers go to him for their needs, and he also acts as the buyer of surplus farm crops. Squinch lives in the Tin Inn, where usually he can be found.
